Metal Gear Solid 4 and Online News

My most anticipated PS3 game, Metal Gear Solid 4, has been given an "official" release date. Supposedly the game is releasing on Thursday, June 12, 2008. I picked up the info from Kotaku's page earlier today (link below) and it sounds really promising. The most curious thing about it is that it may ship alongside an 80gig PS3 with a Dual Shock 3 packed in with it. I do not have a PS3 yet so that deal sounds very very appealing to me. I would consider buying it fully bundled as long as it doesn't cost more than its separate components because of some special MGS stuff thrown in. With it coming early in the summer I wouldn't doubt that the price of this mystery bundle might actually be lowered into the acceptable range ($459.99 with system, game, and dual shock 3). I really need to get a job by the end of March that will help me pay for all of this stuff.

UPDATE: The Bundle was officially announced and will hit store shelves the same day as MGS4 for $499. I guess they didn't have what it takes to show they mean business. It is confirmed to have the 80gig, Dual Shock 3, and the game.

Side Note: Taken from Kotaku -
In addition to announcing a ship date and hardware bundle for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, SCEA today revealed that a beta for the game's online component will happen before the June release. Metal Gear Online, as you may be aware, will be a separate release from the single player experience, but Metal Gear Solid 4 will come with a "starter pack" that will give gamers a taste of what to expect from the full version.

The multiplayer beta test for Metal Gear Online will kick off in April for those who pre-order the game. Run, do not walk, to your local retailer and bring a fiver with you.
